I’m a solo, early-career builder from El Salvador (English is my second language, and I build with AI assistance). A few months ago I built Synathic, an open-source (MIT) Python decorator that checks with a SQL query whether an AI agent’s database write really happened, instead of trusting “success” or a 200 OK.
What happened:
– I sent the docs to 8 potential design partners. None tried it.
– On Reddit, about 19 of 20 comments said they already solve it with a few lines of code or a cron job.
– Still, the problem is real: people shared cases of green checks with empty or stale results that took days to notice. In a Zapier thread, agencies said their clients usually find out first.
What I learned:
1) People fix this themselves, cheaply, so adoption cost decides everything.
2) The strongest check is an independent read the agent can’t fake, but that needs more setup than people will accept.
3) The metric that matters is detection latency (days versus minutes), not the failure type.
I’m not trying to sell anything. I want to build a dev tool in the agent infrastructure space, and I know that area is consolidating. So I’d like to learn where there is still room, from people who actually run agents or build dev tools.
If that’s you, I’d love a short chat (here or by DM):
– What’s a problem in your agent stack you’d pay to solve and haven’t found a good tool for?
– If you’ve built or sold a dev tool, what would you do differently?
I’m also open to talking with someone who wants to build in this space together, especially with distribution or sales experience. Blunt feedback welcome.
